Hello friends!

We are fox hat etc. But who is "we?" Good question, the mysterious We applaud your sense of curiosity.  Okay, here you go... we are Hayley (my roommate/accomplice/friend) and Lauren (me). This blog will follow our baking adventures as we transition from home baking to commercial baking. There will be testing of recipes, embarrassing failures, and hopefully a few great results. For now we just want to introduce ourselves in the style of  myspace questionnaires (they really are the best way of getting to know someone).

1. Are you a collector of anything? - No collections at present, but for a number of Christmases my well-meaning aunt attempted to force me into collecting bunny figurines
2. What three items are in your refrigerator right now? - A hunk of brie, a head of cauliflower, and a container of spinach
3. If you were a type of food what type of food would you  be? - Either cheese or bread. My mom used to call me "cheese"  because of the face I used to make in pictures.
4. What book are you currently reading? - Two actually! The Hobbit and Eragon.
5. What book have you most recently finished? - The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
6. Were you  named after anybody? - I was named after Hayley Mills, the star of the original Parent Trap.
7. How do you eat Oreos? - I usually scrape off the filling and just eat the cookie. I don't really like the white bit.
8. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off? - I don't often wear laced shoes but when i do I tend to rip them off my feet... I'm not a fan of shoes.
9. What movies/TV shows could you watch over and over and still love? - Buffy, Doctor Who, BSG, Firefly, Misfits of Science, Valley Girl, Gilmore Girls, Lord of the Rings etc.
10. What story does your family always tell about you? - My mom always tells about how toddler me had decided that I had been reincarnated multiple times and apparently I went on and on about having been a squirrel, a cat and a boy. My dad likes to tell stories about my habit of wearing other people's underwear on my head, especially his... all you would see is a random tuft of blonde hair and an occasional facial feature peeping out of one of the leg holes

1. Are you a collector of anything? -  Yes! I collect small weird found objects: pieces of metal, electrical bits, tiny nature things. Basically I just like tiny things. Also, I possess an unintentional collection of elephant figurines.
2. What three items are in your refrigerator right now? - hot fudge, sriracha, and carrots.
3. If you were a type of food what type of food would you  be? - something really disgusting so nobody would eat me.
4. What book are you currently reading? - The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Doyle
5. What book have you most recently finished? - The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
6. Were you  named after anybody? - Yes! I was named for my great grandpa Lorne and his daughter, my great aunt, Lorna
7. How do you eat Oreos? - If there is more than one Oreo I alternate between dipping them in milk and completely disassembling them and eating the various parts in whichever order I fancy.
8. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off? - Only if I absolutely must (lace up boots).
9. What movies/TV shows could you watch over and over and still love? - BBC Pride and Prejudice TV series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Love Actually, Rivers and Tides with Andy Goldsworthy, and  The Gilmore Girls!!
10. What story does your family always tell about you? - No matter where I was in our house as a child, if the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song came on I would run into the room and dance like a maniac. Honestly that's not even very embarrassing to me... If I had cable I would probably still do that.
